William " Willie Mac" Lee McClendon 79, of Dyersburg Tennessee died on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his residence with his children by his side.

Born July 2, 1941 in Meridian Mississippi, he was the son of the late Will McClendon and Ora McClendon. Prior to graduating from Bruce High

School in 1963, Willie married his high school sweetheart Mary Virginia Johnson. Willie and Mary celebrated the birth of two daughters, Diane

and Sharon. After working for the Dyersburg Housing Authority and First Presbyterian Church, Willie had a successful career with the former

named Colonial Rubber now Poly One for which he worked for over 46 years. Willie was as avid sports fan who enjoyed playing baseball as well as

watching football and basketball. Prior to his and his wife's decline in health, they both attended Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Visitation for Mr. McClendon will be held from 10:00am to 7:00pm on Friday October 2, 2020 at McCreight Funeral Home, 1607 Hornbrook St.,

Dyersburg, Tennessee 38024. He leaves to cherish his memory, daughters Diane McClendon Steele, Dyersburg, TN, Sharon McClendon Marra-Lopez of Beltsville, MD., Sister Velma Brown of Chicago, ILL. Due to the current pandemic conditions and the family's concern for the health and welfare of others, a private graveside service for Mr. McClendon will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1933 Cumberland St., Dyersburg, TN 38024. Officiating the service will be Minister Darrell McElrath. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Virginia Johnson to whom he was married for 57 years, parents Will and Ora McClendon and sisters Mildred and Louise, both of whom resided in Ohio.
