Mrs. Ruth C. Singleton age 93 of Indianapolis, Indiana (Formerly of Dyersburg, TN.)  a native of Mason, Tennessee, the widow of Mr. John Singleton, Sr. transitioned home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the age of 93 in Indianapolis, Ind. at her residence. Affectionately known as "Mother Singleton" She was a true, gentle and loving lady for many years Mrs. Singleton taught school in the Dyer County Tennessee school system and was a very active and devoted member of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Dyersburg, TN. where she served as pianist/organist, and a member of the Mother's Board. While living in Indianapolis, she continued to serve faithfully in those same positions at Greater King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church.  Arrangements are entrusted to McCreight Funeral Home. Visitations will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021 10:00a.m.-11:55a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 12:Noon with Pastor Lum Woodard Jr. Eulogist and Pastor Mitchell Matthews officiating. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg, TN. Serving as Pall Bearers for Mrs. Singleton will be Anthony Hall, Forest Hall, David Singleton, Trenton Singleton, Brian Singleton, Charles Warren, Jean Claud Lewis. Survivors include her children Brenda J. ( Rev. Lum) Woodard, Indianapolis, Ind., John L. (Beverly) Singleton, Jr., Atoka, TN., Rudy R. (Selena) Singleton, Silver Spring, Maryland, Jarvis L. Singleton, Nashville, TN. Sisters, Gladys M. Lewis, Mason, TN., Dollie J. Hall, Memphis, TN. (7) Grandchildren, (1) Great-Grandchild.
