Mrs. Olivia (Jo) Josephine Lyte age 87 of Dyersburg, TN. died Wednesday, April 2, 2020 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg arrangement are entrusted with McCreight Funeral Home. Due to COVID-19 and Governor Lee's Order. Visitation will be 2p.m.-8p.m. Friday, April 17, 2020 at McCreight Funeral Home. You may come by to sign the register and view the remains. A private funeral service for the family will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020 1:00p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church 725 Carter Lane in Dyersburg. Officiating the service will be Pastor Rev. Marvin Mays. Pall bearers will be family members. Burial will be held in New Bethel Church Cemetery. Mrs. Lyte was a long time church member, past Sunday School Superintendent and Choir member at New Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Lyte worked in many homes across Dyer County. She was employed by Dr. Don Connell, Dr. Steven Melton and Mrs. Neil Armstrong. Although she had no children, she helped raise many children. Her special children's were Jennifer (Barbara) Rogers, Marion Lyte, Michael (Dominique) Light and Jessica Light. She also leaves to cherish her memories two Step-daughters; Peggy Pace and Barbara Simmons of Dyersburg and Step son Frank Arnold. She leaves her sisters;Laura Lucille (Leon) Hobson, Mary Alice Roberson of St. Louis, Mo. Sisters-in-Laws Florene Jones, Carrie McCreight of Dyersburg, TN. Norma J. Netterville of St. Louis, Mo. Two brothers-in-Laws Y.Z. Lyte and Lonnie (Gladys) Light of  Dyersburg, TN. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Lyte, Parents; Charles and Margie Hobson, Four brothers Eddie, Felix, Goston and Charles Hobson, one sister, Ruby Farr.
