Leora Thomas age 60 of Dyersburg, TN died Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Visitation will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 5pm-7pm at Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern, TN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017 12:noon at Jones Street Church of Christ with Bro. Jessie Webb officiating. Burial will be held in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Yorkville, TN... Leora Denise Thomas was born in Newbern, TN on June 22, 1957, she was the youngest daughter born to the union of the late Temis and Imogen Watson. She met her Lord and Savior on July 19, 2017. She attended Brandywine High School in Niles, MI. and graduated in 1976. She later attended Cape Area Vocational School in Cape Girardeau, MO. She graduated March 1983 as a Nurses Aid. She also completed courses in cosmetology. In her early years she was adventurous and enjoyed traveling until she was plagued with illness. She was caring and generous to her family, friends, and most importantly her grandchildren. Leora's smile and unique laugh (snorting) will be missed the most.

She leaves to cherish three fine sons: Temis (Shameka) Watson of Newbern, TN., Travis Vaughn of Dyersburg, Kenneth (Cathey) Vaughn, of Kenosha, WI., Five sisters: Moline Crawford,Nancy Butler and Sadie Powell of Dyersburg,TN. Delores Plummer of South Bend, IN., Martha Coleman of California. Six brothers, Daniel Watson of Newbern, TN., Willie Paul Watson, Billy Watson, Johnny Watson, of Dyersburg, TN., Joe Watson of Cincinnati, OH., J.W. Green of Florida. (19) Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Leora was preceded in death by her parents Temis and Imogen Watson; Siblings, Howard Van Watson, Willie Mae Watson, Josie Powell, Harlon Watson, and Lonnie B. Watson.
