John Lee Higgins age 68 of Tiptonville, TN. A National Guard Veteran Died May 30, 2015 at his residence. McCreight Funeral Home is in charge. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 6, 2015 11:00a.m.-12:45p.m at St. John #2 M. B. Church in Tiptonville, TN. were he was a member. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Perry Woods officiating. Burial will be held in Citizens Cemetery in Tiptonville, TN. Bro. John Lee Higgins was born January 29, 1947 in Savannah, TN, to the union of the late Emmanuel "Jack" & Jennie Graham Higgins whom both preceded him in death. John Lee departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at his residence. Bro. John Lee was better known as "Wolf" & "Spell Binder." He served in the National Guard for 6 years. He was employed by the City of Tiptonville for several years. He accepted CHRIST later in life and was baptized at St. John #2 Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. David A. Bowens. In 2007, Bro. John Lee was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor Perry L. Woods. He remained as a faithful servant of the Deacon Board, Male Chorus, and Men's Sunday School Class until his health failed. "Too Close to the Mirror," & "Lord, I'm Glad I Found Jesus in Time" was his two favorite songs to sing lead in the Male Chorus. He leaves to mourn his passing, six sons: Johnny Matthew Higgins, Timothy Higgins, both of Dyersburg, TN; Johnny Ramond Higgins, Shwun (Willie Ann) Hardy Sr., Chanzie Higgins, and Phillip Kimble, all of Tiptonville, TN.; Five daughters: Malinda (Tim) Smith of Decatur, IL; Tara (Willie) Gates, Marquita DePriest, Shorida Higgins, all of Tiptonville, TN; and Cataline Ceaser of Troy, TN. He also leaves six sisters: Bertha Allen of Tampa, FL; Jennie Selim of Garden City, MI; Pearlie Berry, Denise Sharp, both of Flint, MI; Betty Williams of Columbia, MO; & Lorene Higgins of Fulton, MO. Nine Brothers: Grady Higgins of Jackson, MI; Larry Higgins, Dexter Higgins, Jerry Louis Higgins, Jimmie Higgins, all of Milwaukee, WS; Oliver Higgins of Jackson, TN; Emmanuel Higgins Jr of Elkhart, IN; Jerry Lee Higgins & William Higgins of Indianapolis, IN. He will be cherished also by Aaliyah Swift, 31 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John D. Huggins, & five brothers: Joe Louis Graham, Charles Higgins, Robert Higgins, Freddie Higgins, and Jack Jr. Higgins. Pallbearers will be Granville Elam, Sherman Young, W.C. Kimble, Will Jackson, Alton Prichard, Bubba Kimble, Ben Jenkins and Mario Montgomery. A Legacy of Life, Every Life is Worth Remembering.
