Frederick Lynn Lucas age 56 of Dyersburg, TN died Wednesday, January 14,2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. McCreight Funeral Home is in charge. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2014 6:00pm-8:00pm at McCreight Funeral Home 1607 Hornbrook Street in Dyersburg, TN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 1:00p.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church 208 St. George Ave. Dyersburg, TN. With Rev. Al Seward officiating. Burial will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dyersburg. The clock of time wound to a silent halt as Bro. Frederick Lynn Lucas peacefully slept the blissful sleep of relief and release from this earthly realm. His earthly experiences were completed but were followed by expectations of a better day to come. Fred accepted Christ at an early age where he united with the Fairview Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America where he later became an Elder. He later moved his membership and united with the Ross United Methodist Church. He served in any number of positions at Ross as, Sunday school teacher, Bible Study instructor and Program facilitator. He attended Dyersburg High School where he graduated with honors. Fred attended Dyersburg State Community College in Dyersburg where he graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree, Bachelor of Science Degree-Communication,University of Tennessee at Martin,Post-Bachelor-Education/Elementary Education/Special Education, Lane College, Jackson, TN.,Lemoyne-Owen College in Memphis, TN. Post –Bachelors-Education/Certification, University of Tennessee at Martin. His Professional License includes Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. The importance of education in his life was exemplified by his involvement as a School teacher and the love for children in the education system and special need children. Fred was unquestionably family oriented and loved by his family and friends. Fred loved life; he signified that by the relationship he developed with people. Even during his illness he kept pushing daily making his rounds in town and out of town. Fred loved his sports. He loved Football and Basketball. He Loved his Raiders. Fred was employed with McCreight Funeral Home as a funeral assistant, His past employment, Interim for the late Congressman Ed Jones, Manner's Men Store, Dyer County Sheriff's Office, and McDowell Center for Children, Memphis, City Schools, Tipton County School System, Madison County School System, Mississippi Schools System and Arkansas School System. Frederick was deeply involved any many civic and fraternal organizations Balboa Lodge#205 F. &A.M. Dyersburg, TN, Ancient-Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of Mystic Shrine, Moolah Temple#54, Memphis, TN. Royal Arch & Knights Templar. Frederick Lynn Lucas was born July 7, 1958 to Flossie Carter and the late Milton Lucas in Dyersburg, TN. His legacy lives on in a loyal Mother, Flossie Carter with whom he resided with. Sister, Andrea Lucas, Chicago, IL., Uncles, Johnny Lee (Dorothy) Carter, Sacramento, Ca., Bill Carter, Dyersburg, Cousins, Johnny Lee Carter Jr., Johnny Lee Carter III, Sacramento, Ca. and a host of cousins. Frederick was preceded in death by his Father Milton Lucas and his grandparents, Fred & Betty Carter.
