Billy (Bill) Chambers age 65 of Kalamazoo, MI. died on November 13, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born on July 2, 1952 in Newbern, Tennessee he was the son of James 'Babe' Chambers and Georgia (Greer) Chambers. Arrangements entrusted to McCreight Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, November 24,2017 6-8pm at Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern, TN. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 12:Noon at Jones Street Church of Christ. Burial will be held in the M.C.C.O. Cemetery in Newbern, TN.

He accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Jones Street Church of Christ in Newbern. Even though he later relocated to Kalamazoo, MI, he remained connected to his hometown church.

Bill was a 1970 graduate of Newbern High School. He went to Dyersburg State and graduated in 1972 with a business degree.

He was a former member of North Westnedge Church of Christ, and later became an active member of Chicago Avenue Church of Christ in Kalamazoo, MI. He was an ordained minister, and also served as a Trustee and Leader of the Financial Committee on the Church Board.

On August 2, 1980, Bill united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Dianne Chambers (Shelton), whom he met at the tender age of 5.

Bill was a family-oriented and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who's faith in God anchored his life. His life was focused around his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family and it was very important to him to spend time his grandchildren and be an active part of their lives. He was a very unselfish person who would put others needs before himself. He was a man of with had strong faith and trust in God for every area of his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgia Chambers; and a sister and 2 brothers-in-law: Katie (Chambers) Coleman, Augi Coleman and Jerry Herron.

Bill is also survived by his wife, Dianne Chambers (Shelton); sons, Tommy (Jaime) Chambers, Michael (CyndiLou) Chambers and Dominic Chambers; daughters: Geraldine (Damon Swain) and Georgia (Eddie Anderson) Chambers, his brothers, Ollie (JoAnn) Chambers of Kalamazoo, MI; Vernon "Buddy" Chambers and Roger ("Chalk") Chambers; sisters, Jennifer (Jessie) Webb of Newbern, TN; Teona Herron of Marrietta, GA.
